Ribbon Candy Bracelet

A right angle weave tutorial, fully illustrated with detailed step-by-step instructions, perfect for beginner beaders. Although I use fire-polished beads, you could easily use bicone crystals or round beads instead.

MATERIALS (for a 7-inch bracelet, not including clasp)
• About 6-7 yards waxed Nymo or C-Lon thread, size D, or 6 lb. FireLine
• About 160 bronze size 11/0 seed beads*
• About 250 white size 11/0 seed beads*
• About 37 red size 4mm fire-polished beads*
• About 39 yellow size 4mm fire-polished beads*
• About 39 pink size 4mm fire-polished beads*
• About 37 green size 4mm fire-polished beads*
• clasp
*NOTE: I specify bead color and bead type but you can, of course, use any color you wish and this pattern will work with any size 4mm beads: fire-polished, druk, pearl, bicone crystal, etc.

Step 1: You’re going to have to add thread while creating this bracelet so start with a length you feel comfortable working with and thread your needle.

String two bronze seed beads, a red fire-polished bead, two white seed beads and a red fire-polished bead.

Leaving a 14-inch tail for attaching the clasp, tie these beads in a circle with a double knot:

Step 2: Go back across through the red fire-polished bead and up through the two white
seed beads:

Step 3: String a yellow fire-polished bead, two white seed beads and a yellow fire-polished bead.

Go around and up through the two white seed beads that you exited at the end of the last step:

Step 4: Go back across through the yellow fire-polished bead and down through the two white seed beads that you strung in the last step:

Step 5: String a pink fire-polished bead, two white seed beads and a pink fire-polished bead.
Go around and back down through the two white seed beads that you exited at the end of the last step:

Step 6: Go back across through the pink fire-polished bead and up through the two white seed beads that you strung in the last step:

Step 7: String a green fire-polished bead, two bronze seed beads and a green fire-polished bead.

Go around and back up through the two white seed beads that you exited at the end of the last step:

Step 8: Continue back across through the green fire-polished bead:

Step 9: String two bronze seed beads, a green fire-polished bead and two white seed beads.

Go around and back through the green fire-polished bead that you exited at the end of the
last step:

Step 10: Go back up through the two bronze seed beads, across through the green fire-polished bead and down through the two white seed beads that you strung in the last step, and across through the pink fire-polished bead (highlighted in RED):

Step 11: String two white seed beads and a pink fire-polished bead.

Go around and back down through the two white seed beads and across through the pink fire-polished bead (all highlighted in RED):

Step 12: Go back up through the two white seed beads highlighted in RED:

Step 13: String a yellow fire-polished bead and two white seed beads.

Go around and back across through the yellow fire-polished bead and up through the two white
seed beads (all highlighted in RED):

Step 14: Go back across through the yellow fire-polished bead, down through the two white seed beads and across through the red fire-polished bead:

Step 15: String two bronze seed beads and a red fire-polished bead.

Go around and down through the two white seed beads and across through the red fire-polished bead (all highlighted in RED):

Step 16: Go back up through the two bronze seed beads and across through the red fire-polished bead:

Step 17: String two white seed beads, a red fire-polished bead and two bronze seed beads.

Go around and back through the red fire-polished bead that you exited at the end of the last step:

Step 18: Go back up through the two white seed beads that you added in the last step:

Step 19: String a yellow fire-polished bead and two white seed beads.

Go around and back across through the yellow fire-polished bead and up through the two white
seed beads (all highlighted in RED):

Step 20: Go back across through the yellow fire-polished bead, down through the two white seed beads and across through the pink fire-polished bead (all highlighted in RED):

Step 21: String two white seed beads and a pink fire-polished bead.

Go around and down through the two white seed beads and across through the pink fire-polished bead (all highlighted in RED):

Step 22: Go back up through the two white seed beads highlighted in RED:

Step 23: String a green fire-polished bead and two bronze seed beads.

Go around and across through the green fire-polished bead and up through the two white
seed beads (all highlighted in RED):

Step 24: Continue on back across through the green fire-polished bead that you strung
in the last step:

Step 25: Repeat Steps 9 to 24 until your bracelet is the length you want it, minus about a half-inch and the length of your clasp:

Step 26: Go back down through the two bronze seed beads, across through the green fire-polished bead and up through the two white seed beads (all highlighted in RED):

Step 27: To attach one end of the clasp, string a bronze seed bead, a pink fire-polished bead and two bronze seed beads.

Go through one end of the clasp and back through the last bronze seed bead that you just strung:

Step 28: String a bronze seed bead, a pink fire-polished bead and a bronze seed bead.

Go down through the two white seed beads and across through the red fire-polished bead (all highlighted in RED):

Weave your way back into the bracelet and through the clasp several times to reinforce it, knot in several places and then cut your thread.

Step 29: To attach the clasp to the other end of the bracelet, flip the bracelet around and thread your needle with the long tail from Step 1.

Follow the RED thread path so that you are exiting the top two right-most white seed beads:

Repeat Steps 27 and 28 to attach the other end of the clasp.
