MOUNTAIN FLOWER EARRINGS

Mountain Flower Earrings, free bead pattern

These delicate earrings, which measure only an inch long without findings or drop beads, match my Mountain Flower Bracelet. For the center two-hole bead, you can use IrisDuo, GemDuo or two-hole Kite beads.

MATERIALS
• About 4 feet of 6 lb. FireLine
• About 70-90 size 11/0 Miyuki (rocaille) seed beads
• 12-14 size 3mm beads (fire-polished beads work best)
• 4 StormDuo beads
• 2 two-hole beads (IrisDuo, GemDuo or two-hole Kite beads)
• Optional: 2 drop beads of any size or shape you prefer
• 2 small (2-4mm) closed (soldered) jump rings
• A pair of earring findings

Step 1: Thread your needle with about 2 feet of FireLine.

Leaving about a 5-inch tail that you can weave in and cut at any time, string two seed beads, a 3mm bead, four seed beads and a 3mm bead.

Tie the beads in a circle with a tight double knot:

Step 2: Go back around through the beads that you just strung, grab the tail thread and tie another tight knot:

Step 3: Go back up through the seed bead highlighted in RED:

Step 4: String a 3mm bead and a seed bead.

Go around through your jump ring and then back down through the seed bead and 3mm bead that you just added:

Step 5: Go back down through the seed bead, the 3mm bead and the two seed beads highlighted in RED:

Step 6: Go back around through the beads highlighted in RED and the jump ring:

Step 7: String a 3mm bead, a seed bead, a StormDuo bead, a seed bead and a 3mm bead.
Go around and back across through the seed bead that you exited at the end of the last step (highlighted in RED):

NOTE: When adding the first StormDuo bead, make sure that it is positioned the same way as in my illustration above.

Step 8: Go back down through the 3mm bead and the seed bead that you added in the last step (highlighted in RED):

Step 9: String four seed beads.

Go across through the bottom hole of the StormDuo bead that you added in Step 7 (highlighted in RED):

Step 10: String four more seed beads.

Go up through the seed bead, the 3mm bead and the two seed beads highlighted in RED:

Step 11: String a 3mm bead, a seed bead, a StormDuo bead and a seed bead.

Go around and back up through the 3mm bead and the seed bead highlighted in RED:

NOTE: When adding the second StormDuo bead, make sure that it is positioned the same way as in my illustration above.

Step 12: Go back down through the 3mm bead and the seed bead that you added in the last step (highlighted in RED):

Step 13: String four seed beads.

Go across through the bottom hole of the StormDuo bead that you added in Step 11 (highlighted in RED):

Step 14: String four more seed beads.

Go up through the seed bead, the 3mm bead and the seed bead highlighted in RED:

Step 15: Go back down and around through the beads highlighted in RED:

Step 16: String a two-hole bead by going through the top hole.

Go across through the two seed beads and the bottom hole of the StormDuo bead highlighted in RED:

Step 17: Go around through the beads highlighted in RED:

Step 18: String three seed beads. Go across through the bottom hole of the two-hole bead that you added in Step 16 (highlighted in RED):

Step 19: String three seed beads.

Go up through the seed bead and the bottom hole of the StormDuo bead highlighted in RED:

If you do not wish to add a drop bead, weave into the earring, knot and cut your thread.

Step 20: To add a drop bead, go all the way back around through the beads highlighted in RED:

Step 21: String three seed beads, a 3mm bead, a seed bead, a drop bead and three more seed beads. Go around and back up through the drop bead, the seed bead and the 3mm bead that you just added to form a seed bead picot:

Step 22: String three seed beads and go up through the beads highlighted in RED:

Weave in, knot in and cut your thread.
